          Towards Safe Storage and Transportation of Cryogenic Hydrogen

          Background

          The large-scale storage and transportation of LH2 is expected to play a fundamental role in a potential future hydrogen economy. Ensuring safe implementation of LH2 storage and transportation technologies is mandatory with regard to economic benefit and public acceptance.

          Project

          The STACY project contributes to the safety assessment of LH2 storage and transportation by approaching unresolved research challenges with cooperation between European and Japanese research institutions. The obtained results will support the development of safety rules and increase public awareness of LH2 technologies.

          Events

          The project organizes annual seminars including site visits of both scientific and industrial partners to bring together scientists and stakeholders. The seminars include a Young Generation Session where students from the local organizer are given the opportunity to meet young researchers involved in the project.
